Soul Ushering and Psychopomp are two shamanic practises I draw on to support those either currently in the death journey process, or those who may have suffered a complicated, tragic or sudden death and may require shamanic support in crossing over,
In this process I have been trained to move between the physical and spiritual worlds in order to support those in the dying process regardless of if they are cognitive or not. In the shamanic journey my spirit leaves my physical body for a time, so that I can support those who are transitioning out of life, or stuck and having a hard time leaving. It is for this reason that I only take on a small number of clients per year for this work.
What is Soul Ushering? Soul ushering is a specific area of shamanic work that supports those who are in the process of crossing over and may be in need of extra support with fears that may be coming up for them at this time. The person may be in a coma or sleeping, but close to their death time. The goal of soul ushering is to hold and support the person preparing to die, by helping to remove fear from their process and to facilitate a peaceful passing for them. I also have more information on how I can support those currently in the death journey or working through the loss of a loved one on my End of Life Ceremoniespage.
What is Psychopomp? Psychopomp is specific to work that a shamanic practitioner does after a person has already died and become stuck and unable to cross over. Often this happens due to a complicated, sudden or tragic death that has not been reconciled. This kind of death not only affects the deceased, but can also leave loved ones with a sense of their not being at peace or completed in the process.
