Dear sisters, As we all stand together at this new threshold in a new year, I invite each of you to begin the task of creating your own safe inner cocoon. For it is within this space that each of you can do the work needed and to get as messy as you need to be.
If we are to look up the word cocoon in the Merriam Dictionary we see that it not only refers to the silk covering made by caterpillars as they transform themselves into butterflies, but also: "Something suggesting a cocoon especially in providing protection or in producing isolation. Wrapped in a cocoon of blankets. An interest in the world beyond the everyday cocoon most of us construct.
It is this interest in the world beyond the everyday that has drawn each of you here at this time and so as each of you put aside precious time and create space in your homes for altars dedicated specifically to this work, I would also add that in doing this you are weaving a cocoon around yourselves in anticipation for change.
Having said that, true transformation is messy, and dark, and can't actually be planned. No matter how much we may want to we cant rush the process or "vision board" it, it just simply is, and it happens on it's own damn time.
Each of you come to this work with your own lifetime of living behind you, you probably have some idea of where you are going if you are not already there. And so I would suggest that no matter how simple or how deep each of these 13 lessons appears to you to take a moment before diving into each one and set your intent. When we set intentions we are essentially setting a ceremony into motion where by we are the healer and the healed. We can choose to take our healing process as deep or shallow as we wish. We can choose to focus on our spiritual path and work with our guides that will take us into new territory and this is where the magic happens! For you see these 13 moons are as much about healing as they are establishing a spiritual practise that you can carry with you for the rest of your lives if you wish. In this process you are not just looking at archetypes and goddesses, you are not just looking into your shadows and exploring what you may find there, you are also establishing a deep and lasting relationship with your animal guide and you are becoming a medicine bundle carrier.
We all know that there are thousands of different kinds of courses out there and many of us have chased a few, myself included, looking to feed our inner "happiness machines" and chasing the promise of learning how to "have abundance" and and to "know our destiny paths", as though being on our souls path equates to being happy, and the truth is it is not.
You see the meaning of life is not just to be happy, it is to make it meaningful. When we have deep meaning in our lives, and an inner understanding of how to access the deepest parts of ourselves, the shadows and the light in our hearts, then all else falls away.
The problem is that we all forget, a lot! We forget that we already know what we need to know, we forget that we are already on our destiny path, or we forget how to stay on the path because we get distracted by our shadows.
This is where the simplicity of our next 13 months together comes in. Each month is an opportunity to remember, to be inspired, or to be validated in just how much you already know. Each month is an invitation to come into a spiritual practise that is your own, completely created by you and for you. It is to step onto the path of the priestess and to be accountable to yourself.
Because the truth of it all, is that we are craving depth, and soul, and honestly, and when the shadows cast large dark times on our lives, and we are "going through it" with no idea how or when we will find our way out, this--THIS sisters is exactly where you need to be--this is the cocoon!
What is essential here is your complete willingness to experience your becoming, and so I invite you to take thew work as deep as you like, and I would also be so bold as to suggest that if the work feels easy, you are not going deep enough.
